Southern Marten Foods Private Limited

Southern Marten Foods Private Limited is up in the hills of the Nilgiris. We are in a small place called Jackanarai at 4/94 Sakkatha. Being up here means the weather is always a bit cooler than down in the city, which is nice for the food we handle. Our building is nothing special to look at. It is just a sturdy place where we pack things up and keep our stock. We are a family business mostly. My uncle handles the sourcing and I look after the daily chores. The roads around here are narrow and can be quite slippery when the mist comes down, so we have to be careful with the vans. We do not use any big words to describe what we are doing here. We just buy food items, package them, and send them out. Sometimes the internet is slow up here, so we do most of our business over the phone or just by talking to people face to face. It is a quiet way of living and working. We do not have a big sign out front. Most of our neighbors know what we do. The work is mostly manual, lifting boxes and checking labels. It can be tiring, but it is good to be working for yourself. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep the business steady. We enjoy the mountain air and the simple pace.
