Sm Metal Works

Down here at Sm Metal Works in Kalakkodu Post, things stay pretty loud. It is the kind of place where you hear hammers hitting metal from early morning. We started this small workshop because there was a need for metal parts around the district. We don’t have a fancy showroom or a reception desk with a bowl of mints. It’s just us, some tools, and a lot of raw material. Most days are spent cutting pieces to size or joining things together. The floor is usually covered in scrap, though we try to sweep it out every Friday. Being in the Kalakkodu area means we know most of the people who walk through our door. It’s a local operation, through and through. We handle a lot of different jobs, some big and some just tiny repairs that someone brought in from their farm or house. It gets hot in the summer, especially with the machines running, but we have a couple of fans that help a bit. There isn't much to say about our history other than we've been working hard every day since we opened. We don’t use big words to describe what we do. We just take the metal, do what needs to be done, and give it back to the person who asked for it. That's the way it has always been here. Our shop is just a practical place for practical work, and we like it that way.
