Ooty Farm

Ooty Farm is located at No-1, Kamaiyan Puram, which is out by Padakallai Post. It is quite a way from the center of town, so it is a lot quieter out here. We deal with items that come straight from the earth. It is not the kind of job where you wear a suit and tie. Most of us are in boots and old clothes because there is always mud or dust around. We have a few small sheds and a main building where we keep our tools and the records. The paperwork is kept in some old folders on a shelf that is a bit crooked. We don't have any high-tech systems. We just use our eyes and our hands to make sure things are growing right. The weather is the biggest thing we talk about. If it rains too much, we worry about the crops. If it is too dry, we worry about the water. It is a constant cycle that never really ends. Our neighbors are mostly other farmers, and we help each other out with equipment when something breaks down. We aren't trying to be the biggest farm in the country. We just want to do our work and keep the place going for the next generation. It is a simple, honest way to make a living and we are happy enough with it.
