Our office in Indra Nagar is simple, with cold floors in the morning because of the mountain air. We spend a lot of time walking or driving on bumpy roads to see how the plants are doing. The mist comes down quite low some days, and you can barely see the road ahead. We deal with things like wild honey, pepper, and whatever else the land gives us. It is a lot of manual sorting and packing. Everyone knows everyone here, so business is mostly done through talking face-to-face. We do not use big machines for everything; a lot of it is done by hand because that is what works best for the materials we have. Life in the hills is not always easy, especially when the monsoon hits hard and the roads get blocked. But we manage to keep things going day by day. We are not trying to impress anyone with big words. We just want to make sure the local products get out to people who appreciate them while keeping our traditions intact.
