Up on Kambisholai Road, things are a lot different than down in the town. Ayurveda Retreat Hospital Pvt. Ltd. is at number 286, near the old sanitorium. It’s a bit of a drive to get up here, but the air is a lot clearer. The building sits on a bit of land, so we have some space for a garden where we grow a few of our own herbs. It’s not a fancy resort, even if the name says retreat. The rooms are very basic, meant for resting and getting treatments without any distractions. We don’t have televisions or anything like that in the rooms. Most people spend their time sitting outside or walking around the grounds when they aren't being treated. The road out front is quiet, mostly just local traffic and the occasional delivery truck. We serve simple meals that are mostly rice and vegetables. Sometimes the power goes out when there’s a storm, but we have some backup for the lights. The staff here mostly lives on-site or nearby, so we’re like a small community. We do things at a slower pace up here. It’s not about being quick; it’s about taking the time needed for the oils and the rest to work. The building is old and the wooden floors creak when you walk on them, but it’s a peaceful spot.
