Agai Iy Foundation

Our office is at No.313, Gramya Bhavan in Aruvankadu. Being up here in the Nilgiris means the weather is usually pretty nice, even when it’s hot everywhere else. We work out of a simple building. It’s not a corporate headquarters by any means. We focus on local community things, mainly around the rural parts of the hills. Aruvankadu is a small place, so everyone knows where Gramya Bhavan is. We spend a lot of time outdoors or visiting people in nearby villages. When we are in the office, it’s mostly to catch up on filing or to have a quick meeting. We don’t have much in the way of high-tech gear. Just some old desks and a printer that works when it wants to. The view from the window is probably the best part of working here. You can see the greenery and the hills. It makes the work feel a bit easier. We’ve been here for quite some time. The foundation is just a few of us who live in the area and wanted to do something useful. We don't have any grand plans. We just help out with whatever comes up in the community. Sometimes it's about school supplies, other times it's about helping someone with paperwork. It’s just daily life for us here in the Nilgiris. We keep things informal and just try to be helpful neighbors. There's no stress, just steady work that needs doing. We enjoy the pace of life up here in the mountains.
