Mountamount Exports

You can find Mountamount Exports at 1164 East Main Street in Thanjore. This part of East Main Street is always full of activity with shops and people everywhere. Our building is pretty old, but it has a lot of character and plenty of space for what we do. We mostly focus on exporting items that are made right here in the region. Thanjore has a lot of talented craftsmen and we try to get their work out to a wider audience. The office itself is quite plain with just some metal racks and a few wooden tables. We don’t spend money on fancy furniture because we’d rather put that into the business. My brother handles the logistics and I take care of the people side of things. We get a lot of walk-ins who just want to see what we are sending out this week. It’s a very transparent way to work. Sometimes the dust from the street gets into everything, so we are constantly cleaning the surfaces. We have a small courtyard in the back where we do the final crating. It’s hard work, especially during the summer months when the humidity is high. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy speeches for us. We just focus on the task at hand and try to make sure every box is packed securely. It’s a modest life, but we are proud of the work we do here on East Main Street.
