Vetry Mobiles

You can find Vetry Mobiles over in Uranipuram. It’s not a very large place, but we have enough room for a counter and a few chairs for people to sit while they wait. We mostly fix phones that have cracked screens or batteries that won't hold a charge anymore. People bring in all sorts of devices, some so old I’m surprised they still turn on. We spend our days squinting at tiny screws and trying to keep track of parts that are smaller than a fingernail. It’s a bit hard on the eyes, but it’s satisfying when a phone finally vibrates back to life. Uranipuram is a small community, so we know a lot of our customers by name. They drop off their phones and go run other errands, then come back later to see if it's ready. We don't have a fancy repair lab with white coats. It’s just a workbench with a bright lamp and a bunch of tools scattered around. Sometimes we can’t fix something, and we’ll just be honest about it instead of charging for nothing. We don't use a lot of technical jargon because most people just want their phone to work so they can call their family. We keep the shop open late most nights because that's when people are off work and have time to stop by. It’s a simple life running a mobile shop, but it keeps us busy and the bills paid.
