Our place is at No 7 Mothilal Street here in Kumbakonam. It’s a quiet enough street, but close enough to the center that it’s easy to find. We’ve been working out of this building for some time now. The office isn't very large, but it has enough room for us to manage the daily paperwork and talk to whoever comes in. We don't go in for big decorations or expensive furniture. It’s just wooden desks and some old filing cabinets that have seen better days. We spend a lot of our time going through ledgers and making sure the numbers are correct. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just wait for the generator to kick in so we can finish what we started. It’s a simple way of working, and we prefer it that way. Most of the people who come by are locals who have been living in Kumbakonam their whole lives. We know their families and they know ours. It makes the workday go by a bit faster when you can have a real conversation with someone. We aren't trying to be some big city firm. We are just a few people doing our jobs and making sure everything is handled properly for the community. It’s a steady pace, and we like the routine of it all. When we close up the office in the evening, we feel like we've done a decent day's work.
