Raamathy Organic Food Product

We have our little shop at 61 Sannathi Street in Thirubuvanam. It is a very old street and we are right there in the middle of it. We sell organic food products and keep everything in simple bins and bags. The shop doesn't have air conditioning, so we keep the fans running all day to stay cool. We get our supplies from local places and it takes some time to weigh and package everything into smaller portions. People from the neighborhood come in and we usually end up chatting for a bit. It’s a friendly place and we know most of our customers by name. The wooden shelves were built by a local carpenter and they have a bit of a lean to them now. We don't have a computer for sales, we just write everything down in a notebook. It’s a bit slower that way but it works for us. Thirubuvanam can be quite busy, especially when there are festivals at the nearby temple. The street fills up with people and we often have to stand outside to manage the crowd near our door. We spend our evenings cleaning up and making sure the jars are full for the next day. It’s a lot of standing and walking around, so our feet are usually tired by the time we close. We just like running our shop and being part of the community here.
