Mountain Engineering

We set up Mountain Engineering at Plot Number 22 in Vellangani, which is part of Vedaranyam. It’s a coastal area, so the air always has a bit of salt in it. This can be tough on the machinery, but we’ve learned how to deal with the rust and the humidity over the years. Our plot is basically a large shed with some outdoor space for bigger equipment. We handle engineering tasks for local needs, often related to the farming or fishing equipment used around here. It’s not a high-tech lab. It’s a place with heavy tools, welding sparks, and oily rags. We open up early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. By midday, it can be quite intense under the metal roof. We don't have a marketing department or even a proper secretary. If you call, one of the guys working on a machine will probably wipe their hands and answer the phone. We like being in Vedaranyam. It’s a quiet life compared to the big cities. We know our neighbors and often help each other out with tools. Our goal is just to keep the local gear running so people can do their jobs. It’s practical work. We don't make big promises, we just look at the problem and try to fix it. Sometimes we have to wait for supplies to come from the city, but we make do with what we have on hand.
