Mariya Marbles

Our yard is located at 17, Vallam Main Road, which is right across from the CWC godown. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows where the godown is. At Mariya Marbles, we spend a lot of our time dealing with the logistics of moving stone. Since we’re on the main road, we see a lot of trucks and traffic passing by all day long. The yard is usually full of slabs of all different sizes and colors. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that; we just put our signs out and hope people stop in. And they do. Most of our customers are just regular folks from around here who need stone for a renovation. We walk them through the rows of marble, pointing out the different patterns. It’s hard to keep everything clean with the road dust and the wind, but we try our best. We’re just a small crew, so if we’re busy loading a truck, you might have to wait a minute for us to come over and talk. We aren't trying to be the most polished business in the world. We just want to provide a decent product at a price that makes sense for both of us. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and long hours, but we’ve been doing it this way for years and it seems to work out okay.
