M M Earth Movers is down at 65 Pudukkottai Road in Arulananada Nagar. We are very close to the Thanjavur Tvs showroom, so that makes us pretty easy to find if you are coming from that direction. Thanjavur can get incredibly hot, and working around big metal machines doesn't make it any cooler, but we are used to it by now. We’ve been at this location for a good bit of time. Our daily routine is mostly about getting the earthmovers ready for whatever site they are headed to. Whether it’s digging a foundation or clearing out some old trees, we just take the machines and get to it. The yard can get pretty messy with all the grease and the dirt we bring back from the jobs. We have a small office where we keep our logbooks and take calls from people looking for help with their construction projects. It’s not a fancy setup, just some chairs and a desk and a lot of spare parts lying around in the corners. We know a lot of the local contractors and they just call us up when they have work. We don't spend much time on the computer or anything; we'd rather be out making sure the engines are sounding right. It’s a lot of manual work and long days under the sun, but that’s just the nature of earthmoving. We are just a local crew doing our thing on Pudukkottai Road. It’s a noisy and dusty life, but it keeps us busy.
