Kitez Store

Kitez Store is located over on Kurinji Street in the New Housing Unit area. We are right across the road from the Bank of India, which makes it easy for people to find us if they are not from around here. It is a decent-sized store, and we try to keep the shelves stocked with whatever the neighbors might need. We have been here since the housing unit was relatively new. It is not like those big supermarkets where nobody knows you. Here, we usually have a chat with whoever comes in to buy something. Sometimes the delivery truck is late, and we have to tell people to come back the next day for their bread or milk. We have a small stool behind the counter where I sit when there are no customers. The floor is made of old tiles that are a bit hard to keep clean with all the dust from the street. We do not have any air conditioning, just a couple of wall fans that spin pretty fast. It gets bright in the mornings when the sun hits the front window, so we usually pull the shade down a bit. We are just a local shop trying to make a living. There is nothing very special about it, just a place to get your daily items. We close up around nine in the evening and head back to our own houses nearby. It is a quiet life.
