Our office is located at 118/4 Balaji Nagar in Papanasam, which is part of the Thanjavur district. It’s a straightforward neighborhood where everyone mostly knows each other. We run the Nidhi company from here, which basically means we help people with their savings and small financial needs. The office isn't anything special to look at—just a regular room with some desks and a lot of paper files. We spend a lot of time just sitting and going through the accounts with the people who walk in. Many of our customers are farmers or small traders from the surrounding areas. They like to come in and talk for a bit before getting down to business. We don't have fancy office furniture or air conditioning; we just rely on the ceiling fans and the open windows. Sometimes the dust from the road blows in, but we just wipe off the desks and keep going. We drink a lot of local coffee throughout the day to stay sharp. It’s a small operation, and we like it that way because it allows us to know every single person who has an account with us. We don't use any complicated jargon or big words. We just explain how things work in plain English or the local language and get the entries done. It’s a quiet life in Papanasam, and we’re just glad to be a part of the Balaji Nagar community for all these years.
