Born4Shopping

Pattukkottai is where we’ve set up shop. It’s a nice town and we’ve lived here most of our lives. We started this because we saw that people needed a place to get their shopping done without having to travel too far to the bigger cities. We handle a lot of different items and it keeps us on our toes. The shop gets busy during the festival seasons and that's when it's really lively around here. We don't have a massive warehouse or anything, just enough space to keep what people want. Sometimes the deliveries are late and we have to explain that to the customers, but most people here are patient because they know us. We try to keep the shelves tidy, though it’s hard when children are running around. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We take turns staying late to do the accounts. We don’t use any complicated software, just a basic computer and some ledgers. If you’re walking through the market area, you might see us chatting with the neighbors. It’s a simple life and a simple business. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in the world, just a reliable one for the folks in Pattukkottai. Every day is a bit different depending on what stock comes in and who stops by for a chat. We usually close for a bit in the afternoon when it gets too hot, then open back up until late in the evening when it’s cooler.
