Our place is called Archhouse and it is over at 5/398 in Pasupathikovil. If you are looking for us, we are right near St. Antonys Church, which is the easiest way to tell people where to go. Thanjavur is a quiet place mostly, but our street stays somewhat busy with people going to the church on Sundays. We started this because we liked drawing and building things. It’s just a small office with some drawing boards and a couple of old computers that we use for the house plans. It’s not a corporate setup at all. Usually, there is some coffee on the stove and papers scattered all over the place. We do a lot of residential work for people in the village and the surrounding areas. Sometimes we have to travel out to the building sites, so the office might be closed for a few hours in the afternoon. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy outside. Just a simple nameplate on the door is enough. It’s a bit humid here in Thanjavur, so we keep the windows open for the breeze. We like working with local materials and talking to the masons who actually do the heavy lifting. It’s more of a family feel here than a cold business. We know most of our clients by their first names and they often drop by just to say hello even if they don't have a project going on right now.
