We’ve been here across from the Thiruvidaimaruthur fire station for a good while now. It’s a busy spot especially with all the temple traffic coming through Aduthurai and Kumbakonam. Usually, things start early in the morning. You’ll hear the bells and the general noise of the street waking up. We spend most of our time making sure the rooms are actually ready before people show up tired from their travels. Sometimes the power acts up or a tap leaks, so we stay busy fixing things. It isn't some fancy high-rise setup. It’s just us here on the main road. Most people find us because they’re visiting the local shrines or just need a place to sleep that isn't too complicated. We try to keep the floors clean despite all the dust from the road outside. Our staff mostly live nearby so we know the area well. If someone asks for a good place to eat or which way the shortcut to the next town is, we usually have an answer. It gets really hot in the afternoons, so we mostly sit in the shade of the lobby when there aren't any check-ins. It’s a simple operation. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Just a few of us making sure the gates are open and the beds are made. If you’re passing the fire station, you’ll see our sign right there.
