About Uday Ceramics – Industrial Plant & Machines in Thangadh
Amarapar is a quiet place, but we stay busy here at Uday Ceramics. We have been working with clay and tiles for a long time now. The shed where we keep the finished pieces is pretty big, though it always feels like we are running out of room. There is a specific smell of wet earth and dust that stays on your clothes all day. We have a few kilns that stay hot for hours, and you have to be careful walking around them. Most of our workers live nearby and walk to work every morning. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. If someone wants to see what we have, they just come into the yard and look through the stacks. Sometimes pieces get chipped or broken during the firing, which is just part of the business. We try to keep things organized, but when a big order comes in, the whole place gets chaotic for a few days. It is mostly family run, so there is always someone arguing about where to put the new pallets. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the trucks to arrive. It is honest work and we take it day by day. The weather really affects how fast things dry, so we are always watching the clouds.
