I operate out of Dhobi Talab, specifically in the Murtuza Compound in Bhiwandi. This is in the Thane district of Maharashtra. Bhiwandi is a very busy place, full of warehouses and looms. Our spot in Murtuza Compound is right in the middle of all that activity. There is always the sound of machines or trucks moving in the distance. It is not a very quiet area, but it is where the work happens. I have been based at Dhobi Talab for some time now. The office is small and practical. We don't have fancy furniture or air conditioning that works all the time. It is a place for business, mostly dealing with the local trade that Bhiwandi is famous for. People come by the compound to discuss things or drop off papers. It can get quite dusty during the dry season, and the roads are often crowded with people and goods. I spend my time managing whatever tasks come through the door. It is a bit messy sometimes, with files piled up on the desk, but I know where everything is. Living and working in Thane district means you have to be used to the hustle. We just do our bit and try to get through the day's work before the evening rush starts. It is just a regular office life here for us and it works.
