Shakti Filters & Engineers

Down here at Unit No. 13 in the Anand Compound, it gets pretty loud. We’re right opposite the K. T Industrial Estate in Fanaspada, so there is always a truck or a tempo moving something around. Shakti Filters & Engineers has been in this spot for a bit now. We spend most of the morning getting the machines warmed up and checking on the filter orders. Being in Vasai East means it gets quite humid, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the metal roof of the unit. We mostly just focus on the engineering side of things. There’s a lot of grease and the smell of cut metal in the air. We don't have a big fancy office, just a small corner where the phone sits and we keep the ledger. Most of the guys have been here for years, so we all know how the old lathes work. It’s a practical place. We don't do much talking, mostly just measuring and welding. The compound can get a bit messy with scraps, but we try to clear it out once a week. Sometimes the power flutters, but we just wait it out and get back to work. If you’re looking for us, look for the big blue door near the end of the lane. It’s just a regular workshop doing regular engineering jobs for local companies in the Thane district. It’s not a polished setup, but it gets the job done.
