The United Sports Bar & Grill

We have been at the Ground Floor of Viviana Mall for a good while now. It’s right there on the Eastern Express Highway in Thane West. Being next to Jupiter Hospital means we see all sorts of people walking by our windows every day. In the mornings, we usually spend time moving the heavy wooden chairs around and checking if the beer taps are flowing right. The mall gets busy around noon, and we can hear the muffled sounds of shoppers through the glass. We have several big screens that we have to make sure are tuned to the right channels before the games start. It’s not always glamorous. Sometimes a drain gets clogged or a light bulb in the back starts flickering and someone has to find the ladder. The kitchen guys are usually busy chopping onions and prepping meat by ten. We don’t have a fancy mission statement or anything. We just open the doors and try to make sure the food is hot and the drinks are cold. The staff mostly hangs out by the service station when it is quiet. Thane can get really hot, so the air conditioning is always running full blast. You get used to the constant hum of the mall. Some regulars come in just to chat with the bartenders they have known for years. It’s a lot of work keeping a place like this running day in and day out, but it is what we do here.
