The Local Kirana

The Local Kirana is tucked into shop number 3 on New Link Road, specifically in the Baburam Bag area of Jogeshwari West. Being in Mumbai, space is always a bit tight, but we manage to keep a good variety of items for the local residents. We sell grains, oils, spices, and all the little things you might run out of in the kitchen. It’s a fast-paced area, but we try to keep a relaxed atmosphere inside the shop. We have been serving the people around Baburam Bag for some time now, and we've seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Despite the big supermarkets popping up, many folks still prefer coming to us for their daily needs. We don't have anything flashy to show off. It is just a regular kirana shop where you can get your items weighed and packed while you wait. I usually handle the counter myself, and I've gotten quite fast at finding things even in the most crowded corners of the shop. It is a lot of work keeping up with the inventory, but it is a good way to stay involved with the community. We open early so people can get what they need before heading to work. It’s just a small, honest business trying to provide the basics to the people living nearby. Nothing more and nothing less than that.
