Modern Opticians Plus

Thane West is a place that never really stays quiet, especially around Ram Maruti Road. We are located in Taskar House, at No. 11. Modern Opticians Plus has been around for a bit now. People come in when they realize they can't see the signs on the buses anymore or when their old frames finally snap. We have a lot of different glasses on the walls. Some are modern, some look like they've been there since we opened. We don't try to push the most expensive ones on people. If someone just needs something basic for reading, that is what we show them. My hands are usually busy adjusting a hinge or cleaning a lens with a soft cloth. It’s quiet work compared to the noise outside. Sometimes the shop gets full and people have to wait on the small bench we have. We offer them water and tell them it won't be long. I like seeing someone put on a new pair of glasses and look around the room with a surprised face because everything is clear again. It makes the long hours feel worth it. We aren't a big chain with hundreds of stores. It’s just this one spot. We know the regular faces who walk past our window every morning. The floor gets dusty from all the foot traffic, so we sweep it a couple of times a day. It’s a simple life here in Thane.
