Sushruti Clinic

I've been opening the shutters here at Shop No. 3 in the Prasant Building for quite a while now. Most people in Ashok Nagar know where we are, tucked away in Kandivali East. It's not a flashy place, just a simple clinic where we try to help out whoever walks through the door. Sometimes the morning starts slow, just me and a cup of tea while I organize the patient files and wipe down the chairs. Then the regulars start showing up. We see kids with scraped knees and older folks coming in for their checkups. The building itself is old, but it’s sturdy and feels like home. I like the neighborhood because people actually talk to each other here. If you’re looking for us, we’re right there on the ground floor. The fans might creak a bit, but they keep the place cool enough even in the summer heat. We don't have a fancy waiting room with a TV or anything like that. Just some old magazines and enough chairs for the folks waiting. Kandivali East gets busy in the evenings, so things can get a bit loud outside with the traffic and the vendors, but inside we just keep doing what we do. It’s a lot of work keeping everything clean and running right, but we manage. I usually stay until the last person leaves, then lock up and head home myself. That's pretty much it for us here.
