Surplus Education

We’ve been here at the Bondaiah Building on College Road for a while now. It’s a ground floor spot, which is nice because nobody has to climb stairs, especially when it gets hot out in Bhiwandi. Being right across from Andhra Bank makes it easy for people to find us, though the traffic near Dhamankarnaka can get a bit much during the afternoons. Inside, it’s mostly just us working through things and talking to whoever walks in. We didn’t really plan to be in this specific corner of Thane, but it worked out. The building itself is older, but it stays cool enough. Most days are just about keeping the place running and making sure the lights are on. We have some chairs for visitors and a few desks where the main work happens. It’s not a very fancy setup, just some basic furniture and some files everywhere. You can hear the bikes going past on the road outside pretty clearly most of the day. Some people stop by just to ask for directions because of the bank across the street, and we don’t mind. It feels like a normal part of the neighborhood now. We’ve seen the shops around us change names a few times, but we’re still here in this same spot. It’s a practical place to be, right in the middle of everything happening on this side of town. We just keep things moving one day at a time.
