Streedhan Association Of Women'S Development is located in Flat-13 of the Sati Co-Op Housing Society. We are in Sector 16 of Kopar Khairane in Thane. It’s a residential neighborhood, so it feels very much like a community spot. The office is actually a converted flat on Plot No. 12. It’s not a big space, but it works for what we do. We have some chairs around a main table where we sit and talk. Most of the women who come here are from the local area. We don't have big signs or anything flashy outside. People just know where Flat-13 is. Inside, there are posters on the walls about women's health and rights, and lots of folders filled with notes. We spend our time helping women with different problems they face. Sometimes we’re helping with paperwork, other times we’re just listening. It can get a bit loud when everyone is talking at once, but it’s a friendly kind of noise. We don't have a big corporate budget. We use old furniture and keep things very simple. There’s always someone popping in for a quick question. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. We don't follow a strict corporate schedule; we just stay until the work is finished. Being part of a housing society means we are right in the middle of daily life here in Maharashtra. It feels more like a home than a regular office.
