Square Impex

Our place is 16/A in the Jay Ambe Industrial Estate. It’s right opposite Mehta Estate in Bhayender East. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if you’re coming from the main city, but it’s where all the warehouses are. Square Impex is mostly about moving goods from one place to another. We have boxes stacked up to the ceiling sometimes. It’s a lot of checking labels and making sure the counts are right. The office is just a small space with a couple of desks and a printer that jams way too often. We spend a lot of time on the phone with transport guys. Bhayender is a busy hub for this kind of work. The roads get really muddy during the monsoon, which makes loading the trucks a real pain. We’ve been here for several years now. It’s just a few of us running the show. We don’t have a big corporate structure or anything like that. We just handle the imports and exports as they come in. Sometimes things get stuck in customs, and we have to spend all day sorting out the papers. It’s a lot of boring work that people don’t see from the outside. We take our tea breaks outside on the steps when it’s not too hot. It’s not a glamorous business, but it’s what we know. We just keep track of the inventory and try to make sure nothing gets lost.
