Sneh Holistic & Cultural Foundation

Our foundation is based in A-1, Raja Shantanu Co-op Soc, which is on Plot Number 29 in Sector-16 of Vashi. Navi Mumbai is quite a bit more organized than the main city, and Sector-16 is a nice, settled area. We are in one of the older cooperative housing societies. The building has a lot of trees around it, which keeps it a bit cooler than the main road. Our space is on the ground floor, so it’s easy to find us once you get inside the gate. We have a few rooms that we use for different things. One room is mostly for storage and another is where we sit and work. The floors are that old-style mosaic tile that you don't see much in new buildings anymore. We have some heavy wooden furniture that’s been with us since we started. Vashi is a good place to be because everything is close by. We can walk to the market or the station in about fifteen minutes. There’s a quietness to the society that helps us focus on what we are doing. We often have the windows open, and you can hear the birds in the trees or the sound of someone’s radio from another flat. It’s a very local, neighborhood feel. We don't have any big reception area or a coffee machine, just a regular kitchen where we make tea for anyone who drops in. It feels more like a home than an office, which is exactly how we like it.
