Our place is located in Ramchandra Nagar No 3 within the Wagle Industrial Estate. We are right by the Esis Hospital, which makes it easy for people to explain where they are going when they take an auto. The industrial estate has a lot of trucks and noise during the work day. It’s a bit of a dusty area because of all the construction and factory work going on nearby. We have a small shop front where we keep all the frames and lenses. It’s not a huge showroom like the ones you see in the big malls. We have some old display cases that we’ve had since the day we started. The lighting is a bit yellow but it works for what we need. We sit here most of the day waiting for people to drop by. Sometimes it’s very quiet and other times three people walk in at once and it gets cramped. We do our own cleaning every morning before we open up the shutters. There is a small desk in the back where we do all the paperwork. We don't use a lot of computers for everything, mostly just paper receipts and a big ledger book for the records. Ramchandra Nagar is a working-class neighborhood and we like it that way. Most of our visitors are people who work in the factories nearby. We know the security guards at the hospital and the guys at the tea stall next door. It’s a practical setup for us.
