Shri Ganesh Medical

Shri Ganesh Medical is a small shop at 3/16 Shri Sai Chaya Chs. We are on Haji Malang Road in Kalyan East, right near Chetna School. Usually, the day starts early because people need their medicines before they go to work. We spend a lot of time stocking shelves and checking the expiry dates on boxes. The shop isn't very big, so we have to be careful where we put everything. It gets noisy when the kids from Chetna School are heading home in the afternoon. We know most of the people who come in because they live in the buildings nearby. They bring their prescriptions and we look through the cupboards to find what they need. Sometimes we have to tell them to come back in the evening because the stock hasn't arrived from the distributor yet. The heat in Thane can be a lot, but the shop stays relatively cool with the door open and the fan on. We don't have a corporate office or a team of managers. It's just a pharmacy in the neighborhood. We handle the bandages, the pills, and the syrups. We listen to people talk about their health problems while we wrap up their bottles. It’s a very routine kind of life for us. We’ve been here in Kalyan for a while now, just providing what the neighbors ask for. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day but that's the job. Someone has to do it.
