Shreesadguru Yogiraj Hare Krishna Baba Foundation

Our foundation is tucked away in the Sunderban CHS in Airoli, specifically at Flat D-2 in Sector 7. It’s a quiet enough area most of the time, which suits what we do here. The name is quite long, Shreesadguru Yogiraj Hare Krishna Baba Foundation, but we usually just think of it as our little corner where we try to get things done. We aren’t a big organization with a lot of funding or shiny offices. It is just a flat where we keep our files and meet up to talk about how we can help the local community in Thane. People often drop by just to chat or ask for advice on small matters. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or sitting around the kitchen table figuring things out. It’s a bit cramped when more than three or four people show up at once, but we make it work. The building itself is a typical residential society, so we try not to make too much noise. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who care about the neighborhood and the people in it. Most days involve a lot of paperwork and planning for small local events. It’s simple work, nothing glamorous, but it feels right for us to be based right here where we live and breathe. There is always a pot of tea on the stove and someone ready to listen if a neighbor stops by.
