Shree Sai Marble Mandir House

Our shop is tucked away in Bhatia Compound Number Two, right on LBS Marg in Thane West. If you know where the Satkar Hotel is, we are just across the road from there. We mostly work with marble, making small temples and shrines for people to keep in their homes. It is a very dusty job, and by the end of the day, everything in the shop is covered in a thin layer of white powder. My shoes are never clean, no matter how much I wipe them. We have a few guys who help with the heavy lifting because marble is incredibly heavy and hard to move around. The noise from the traffic on LBS Marg is constant, but inside the compound, it feels a bit more tucked away. We have different pieces of stone leaning against the walls, some waiting to be cut and others already finished. We don’t really do any big marketing or have a polished showroom. Most people just walk in because they saw our sign from the main road or heard about us from a neighbor. Sometimes the deliveries of new stone are late, which can be frustrating, but that’s just how it goes. We try to keep things honest and straightforward. If a piece of marble has a natural flaw, we show it to the customer instead of hiding it. It’s a basic workshop where we spend our days cutting and polishing stone for families who want a nice place for their prayers.
