Shekru Dot Foundation

We are based out of Flat 9B in the Sarovar housing society over in Sector 9A, Washi. It's a quiet spot in Navi Mumbai where we spend most of our days working on different projects. Shekru Dot Foundation started because we saw things that needed doing in our neighborhood and decided to just start. People often ask what we are about, and honestly, we just try to help out where it makes sense. It isn't a massive operation with a big glass office or anything like that. We use the space we have here in Thane to keep things organized. Sometimes the office gets a bit cluttered with paperwork, but that's how it goes when you’re busy. Living and working in the same area helps us stay connected to what's happening on the ground. Most of us have lived in Maharashtra for a long time, so we know the local scene pretty well. If you’re ever around Plot 36, you might see us coming and going. We don’t have a lot of fancy titles or a complicated hierarchy. It’s just a small group of us trying to be useful. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sitting at the kitchen table planning the next steps. It’s simple work, really. We don't worry too much about looking professional in the traditional sense. As long as the work gets finished and people are helped, we are happy with that. That's pretty much who we are.
