Sharp Pack Machines

Sharp Pack Machines is tucked away at 7, Jyoti Industrial Estate-2. If you know where the Radha Krishna Hotel is in Upavan, we’re just right behind it. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always noise from trucks and other shops nearby. We spend our days mostly covered in a bit of grease, working on the packaging units. These machines are heavy and take up a lot of room. Sometimes the delivery guys have a hard time backing their vans into the estate, but we make it work. It’s not a shiny place. It’s a workplace. We have a few desks in the corner for the paperwork, but most of us are out on the floor. You’ll hear the clinking of wrenches and the hum of motors testing out. We get quite a bit of dust because of the open layout, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. Lunch usually means someone heading over to the hotel for tea or snacks. We’ve been in this spot for a good bit now. The neighbors are other small workshops, so everyone kind of knows each other. When a machine is finished, we test it a dozen times. If something sounds off, we pull it apart and start again. It’s a lot of repetitive stuff, but it keeps the machines running right for the people who buy them. It’s just us, the tools, and the metal.
