If you are looking for us, we are tucked away in Ekta Chawl over in Rupadevi Pada No. 2. It is on Road Number 33 in the Indira Nagar area of Wagle Estate. Thane is a crowded place, and our corner is no different. We started Saya Serve Foundation because we wanted to be right where the people are. It is a humble setup, nothing like those fancy offices you see in the city center. There is usually laundry hanging outside and kids playing in the lanes nearby. It gets quite loud during the day, but that is just how life is here. We do our work from a small room that is packed with supplies and a couple of old chairs. It is honest work, mostly just helping out the families around the neighborhood with whatever they need. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just us and the local community. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit during the monsoon, but we manage. People know they can just walk up to the door if they have a question or need some support. It feels more like a home than an office. We spend a lot of time just talking to the neighbors and figuring out how to make things a little better for everyone living in the chawl and the surrounding blocks. It’s a busy life, but it feels right being here.
