Sanmaan Development Foundation

Most days you will find us working out of Flat 604 at the Tapovan building on Uplipad Road. It isn't a big office or anything fancy, just a room where we get together to figure things out for the Sanmaan Development Foundation. We started this because we saw things in the neighborhood that needed a bit of attention and nobody else was doing it. Sometimes the paperwork piles up on the kitchen table, but we manage to keep things moving. Neighbors stop by once in a while to ask what we are up to or just to say hello. It’s a quiet spot most of the time, which really helps when we are trying to plan the next steps for our small projects. We don't have a big team of experts or corporate consultants, just a few of us who really care about how the community is doing. It can get a bit crowded in the flat when everyone shows up at once for a meeting. We usually have tea and talk through the local issues for hours. It has been a huge learning process for all of us here. We didn't really know how to run a foundation when we first began. We just knew we wanted to do something useful with our time. The traffic on Uplipad Road can be quite noisy in the late afternoons, but we have gotten used to it over the years. We try to keep things simple and honest.
