Saint-Gobain Gyproc India Ltd.

Out here in Thane West, specifically in Dev-Daya Nagar, we run the Saint-Gobain Gyproc India Ltd. office on Pokhran Road No. 1. It is a busy stretch of road, and there is always something happening outside the door. We handle a lot of the gypsum distribution for this side of the city. The office at 3/1 is where we sit and figure out which construction site needs what supplies. It is not a shiny place. We have files stacked up and samples of plasterboard leaning against the walls. Usually, there is a hum of activity because someone is always calling about a delivery or a technician is dropping by to check some specs for a new build. We do not use a lot of big words or fancy talk here. If a contractor comes in, we just show them the thickness of the board and tell them the price. It gets very busy during the monsoon because we have to be extra careful keeping everything dry. Gypsum does not like the rain at all. We spend a lot of time checking the tarps on the trucks to make sure they are secure. Most of us have been working in Thane for years, so we know the shortcuts and the best times to move stock. It is a practical job that keeps us on our feet. We do not bother with much else besides getting the orders right and keeping the warehouse organized enough to find things.
