Our clinic is tucked away on M G Road in Motilal Nagar II, Goregaon West. If you know the area, you know it can be a bit of a maze with all the houses and small shops packed together. We are at number 2286. It’s a small homeopathic place, so it’s usually quieter than the big hospitals you see in the city. We have rows of little glass bottles filled with remedies on the shelves behind the counter. The smell of the place is quite distinct, a bit sweet and clean. We’ve been here for a good while, and the neighbors all know us by now. People walk in off the street just to ask a quick question or to pick up their regular refills. We have a small desk where we sit and talk to whoever comes in. There’s a ceiling fan that wobbles a little when it’s on high, but it does its job of keeping the air moving. Goregaon West is always loud with traffic and people, but once you step inside here, things feel a bit slower. We don’t have a receptionist in a suit or anything like that. It’s just us. Sometimes we’re busy writing out labels by hand or organizing the little pills into small paper envelopes. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it’s how we’ve always done it. We just open the doors in the morning and see who the day brings in from the neighborhood.
