R. K. Refrigeration

If you're near Makhmali Talao in Mulund West, you’ve probably passed R. K. Refrigeration without even realizing it. We are right at Shop No. 2, directly across from the Nooribaba Darga. It’s a busy little corner. Most days, the shop is full of old fridges and cooling parts waiting to be fixed or sent back. It’s a bit messy, I’ll admit, but that’s what happens when you’re busy with your hands. We’ve been here for a good long while now. People in the neighborhood know us by name, which is nice. We don’t do any of that fancy internet marketing. Our phone rings because someone told their neighbor we could fix their freezer. I usually have grease on my hands by ten in the morning. My son helps out when he can, but mostly it's just me and a helper. The view of the Darga is nice when I take a minute to breathe and have a tea. We don’t have air conditioning in the shop, which is ironic since we fix it for everyone else. But the fans work okay. Sometimes customers come in just to chat while we work. We don’t mind as long as they don't trip over the compressors on the floor. It’s a simple life, fixing things that are broken and making sure people can keep their food cold. No more, no less. It's just a regular local shop doing what we do.
