Preeti Clinic

Preeti Clinic sits in Rahanal Village, right on the Thane Road in Bhiwandi. We are very close to the bus stop, which means there is a constant stream of people passing by our door at all hours. Many people who are waiting for their bus or just getting off work pop in to see the doctor. The clinic is a modest space. We have a small waiting area that can get quite cramped when more than three or four people are there at once. The walls are painted a simple white, and we have a few posters about basic health on them. Because we are so close to the road, the sound of trucks and buses is always in the background. It can be quite dusty during the dry season, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the benches and the desk. The local people from the village know us well. We see a lot of the same families over and over again. The doctor spends long hours in the small inner room, and I handle the patients out front. It is a busy life, especially in the evenings when the humidity is high and everyone seems to be feeling a bit under the weather. We don't have any high-tech equipment, just the basics needed to take care of the folks who live and work around here. It is just a village clinic doing its part.
