Precious Metal Craft

Out in Kandivali East, specifically at 93 Balaji Ind. Estate, we spend our days surrounded by the sounds of the industrial area. Precious Metal Craft isn't a showroom; it's more of a workshop where things actually get made. Hanuman Nagar is always busy with trucks and delivery vans. Inside our unit, the air smells like metal and heat. We have machines that hum all day, and there's always someone polishing something at a bench. It’s not the cleanest job in the world. Your hands get dirty within ten minutes of starting. We keep our tools on a big pegboard, but they rarely stay in the right spots. The floor is stained from years of work. We’ve got a small area for coffee and lunch, tucked away in the back near the shipping door. Most of the people working here have been with us for a long time. We know each other's families and complain about the commute on the local trains. It’s hard work, especially when the humidity is high in Mumbai. We don't really do much advertising because the work usually speaks for itself through the people we know. It’s just a steady grind, day in and day out, making sure the orders are ready on time. There's always a bit of metal scrap on the floor that we have to sweep up before we leave for the night. That's just how the shop goes.
