Down in the T.T.C. Industrial Area in Turbhe, you’ll find our place at D-379. It’s right in the middle of the MIDC zone in Kukshet, which is basically an endless maze of warehouses and factories. Pioneer Stationery P Ltd. has been operating out of here for a long time. The air always smells a bit like paper and ink, which I guess is fitting for what we do. It’s a big space because we need the room for all the stock and the printing machines. The floor is concrete and can get pretty cold in the winter, but it’s durable. We’ve got trucks pulling up to the loading bay at all hours, so there’s a lot of shouting back and forth to get things moved. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find a fancy reception desk. You usually have to walk past a few stacks of notebooks to find where the main office area is. Our team is a mix of older guys who have been here since the start and some younger kids who are just learning the ropes. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the paper and making sure the machines are running right. It’s noisy and messy, and there’s always a bit of ink on someone’s hands. We just focus on getting the orders out to the shops that need them. It’s a lot of repetition, but it’s what we know.
