Parag Desai's Photography

I have been working out of Thane for quite a long time now. Parag Desai's Photography is basically just how I spend my days, mostly carrying cameras around and trying to get decent shots of whatever is happening. It isn't a huge operation with a bunch of secretaries or a fancy office. It’s more of a practical thing where I just go where the work is. I started out taking pictures of family and friends and then people just started asking me to do more. Now I’m all over Thane, sometimes in small halls or out in the parks if the weather is okay. The traffic around here can be a real pain when you're trying to get to a shoot on time, but that’s just how it is. I don't have a big corporate philosophy or anything like that. I just try to make sure the focus is right and the lighting isn't too dark. Sometimes the gear gets heavy after ten hours on my feet, but I’ve gotten used to it over the years. I spend a lot of evenings sitting at my desk looking at the screen, sorting through hundreds of files. It’s quiet work, but it suits me fine. People usually find out about what I do through neighbors or someone they know from work. I don’t really do much to promote myself, I just keep the camera ready and show up when people call me.
