Nitambika Foundation

You can find us, the Nitambika Foundation, at Matru Smruti in the Lokmanya Tilak Colony of Dadar East. We are on the second floor, room 202, right on Plot No 26. Dadar is the heart of the city, and being in the East side feels very traditional and grounded. We’ve been here for quite a while. The building is old but sturdy, much like the work we try to do. We don't have a big fancy office with glass walls. It’s just a regular room where we keep our files and meet with people. Most of us have other jobs or families to look after, so we fit the foundation work in whenever we can. It’s a labor of love, really. We see a lot of elderly people around the colony who need a bit of extra help, or families just trying to make ends meet. We don't have a lot of money to throw around, but we have time and we know how things work in this neighborhood. We help out with whatever comes up. Sometimes it's helping someone get to a doctor, and other times it's just helping with school stuff for the kids. We aren't looking for awards. We just live here and want to make sure the people around us are doing okay. It’s a quiet life for the most part, right here in the middle of Dadar. If you walk past Matru Smruti, you’ll likely see some of us out front.
