About National Pattern Works – Automobile in Thane
We are over at the Wagle Industrial Estate, specifically on Road No. 21 at Plot A-74. If you know where the old Bush Radio used to be, we are right opposite that. It is an industrial zone, so it is always humming with activity and noise. We make patterns here. It is often dusty work, involving wood, metal, and sometimes plastic. The workshop is big enough for our machines and the benches where we do all the hand finishing. It is not a clean environment, but that is just the nature of making patterns. We have got a group of workers who have been doing this for many years. They have a real feel for the materials they use. We do not use much fancy software; it is more about the physical work and getting the dimensions exactly right. The estate can be a bit of a maze if you aren't familiar with the turns. We have seen many different businesses come and go on this road over the years. Our plot is usually busy from early in the morning. There is always a smell of sawdust or metal shavings in the air when you walk in. We do not have a front desk or anything formal. You just walk in and find someone. It is honest, hard work. We take the drawings and turn them into something solid. It has been our way for a long time.
