We operate out of a unit in the J.Todi Industrial Estate on Radha Swami Satsang Road in Bhayander-W. It is a bit of a trek to get here if the traffic is bad, but once you are in the estate, it is a very focused environment. National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd. might sound like a huge, distant entity, but here at this office, it is just a small group of us. We have a lot of technical manuals, maps, and reports filling up the shelves. The desks are old metal ones that have been here for years. It is not a place where we host fancy events or anything. It is a working office for the technical side of things. We spend a lot of time on the phone with various sites and checking data on our screens. The atmosphere is generally quiet, though you can hear the workshops next door grinding metal or moving heavy parts. Sometimes we have to stay late when there is a big project deadline, and we usually end up ordering some food from the local canteen. The parking around the industrial estate is always a struggle, so most of us try to arrive early. It is a very practical, no-frills setup. We do not have a reception area with magazines; if you come in, you just walk up to whoever looks like they are not too busy. We focus on the engineering and the paperwork that keeps the wheels turning every day.
