M/S Ventura Logistics, Bhiwandi

Even though the name says Bhiwandi, we’re actually based out of Prabhat Apartment in Nerul. It’s Sector 8, Phase 2, right in Navi Mumbai. Our office is E-1/30, A-4. It’s a bit of an unusual setup because we’re in a residential-style building, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time coordinating stuff that happens over in the Bhiwandi warehouses. The phones never really stop ringing. Someone is always asking where a truck is or why something hasn't arrived yet. The commute around here can be a real pain, so we try to get most things done from our desks. We have a small kitchen area where we make way too much coffee. The air conditioner struggles sometimes when it’s really humid outside, which is basically all the time in Mumbai. We’ve got files tucked away in every corner. It’s not the most organized looking place if you just walked in off the street, but we know where everything is. We deal with all sorts of transport issues and freight problems daily. It’s mostly just us trying to solve puzzles with schedules and routes. We don't wear suits or anything like that. It’s just casual clothes and a lot of hard work. Sometimes we stay late when a big shipment is moving, but that’s just part of the job. It’s how we’ve been operating for years and we’re quite used to the daily rush.
