Bhagyalaxmi Garment

We are Bhagyalaxmi Garment, and you can find us at number 23 in Ellora Studio. That’s in the Miragonthan area. We are right opposite the Om Shree Mahavishnu Mandir, which is a good landmark if you’re trying to find your way here. The temple bells are a sound we hear quite often throughout the day. Our space at Ellora Studio is fairly simple. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. It’s mostly just a large room where we keep our materials and do our sewing. It’s a bit of an older building, so it has its odd corners and creaky spots. We aren't worried about looking like a high-end fashion house. This is a place for work. There’s usually thread on the floor and scraps of cloth here and there. We try to tidy up, but it’s a constant battle. The neighborhood of Miragonthan is relatively quiet compared to some other parts of the city, which is nice. Most of the people here just focus on their own tasks. We have our tea breaks together and talk about the day. It’s a very plain, honest way of working. We don't have a big mission statement or anything. We just show up in the morning, do the work that needs to be done, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s just our little spot near the mandir. The front door stays open for a breeze, so we see everyone walking toward the temple.
