Working out of Hatkesh Udhyog Nagar in Mira Road is definitely an experience. It’s an industrial hub, so there’s always something happening. Our place, Aero Tech Aircraft Maintenance Company, is right in the middle of all that noise. It’s a big space because we need room for all the tools and parts we keep on hand. The floors are concrete and usually have a few marks from the equipment we move around. It gets pretty hot under the roof in the afternoons, but we’re used to it. We spend a lot of time looking at manuals and checking parts. It’s not the kind of work you can rush. We aren't big on fancy office furniture; we’d rather have a good set of wrenches or a clean workbench. The area of Hatkesh Udhyog Naga is always full of delivery vans and people moving stuff. We usually get our tea from a small shop around the corner that makes it extra strong. People think maintenance is all about the big machines, but it’s really about the small details we check every day. We’ve been at this address for a while and the neighbors know us as the guys who are always working late. We don't have a corporate handbook or anything like that. We just have a way of doing things that works for us and keeps everything running the way it should. It’s a lot of manual labor and concentration, but we like the technical side of things here.
